Description

IBM i Connector - Configuration (Magic xpi 4.7)

The IBM i connector lets you access IBM i sources using IBM i commands and program calls.

When you place the IBM i connector in a flow, Magic xpi automatically opens the Properties pane for the connector. You can enter the general configuration information in the Properties pane. Double-click or right-click on the connector and select Configuration from the context menu to configure the connector.

Before you use the IBM i connector, you should first define a IBM i resource in the Settings dialog box's Resources section.

When you use the IBM i connector as a step in a flow, you can select from the following interfaces.

  • You must provide the component with information about the IBM i host that you are using such as the Host IP and User Name and Password. When you want to initiate a program call, you must also provide the arguments that you want to send.

  • You should monitor the User and QSYSOPR MSGQ for error messages received while calling HLL programs from Magic xpi. For example, you should use the CHKOBJ command before you create the object from a CL Program, to avoid *MSGW Status for the calling program (in case you repeatedly called it from Magic xpi).
